Yesterday was another beautiful and hot day here on Salt Spring Island. We walked around the town for an hour in the morning then hung out on the boat for a couple hours.
We heard some cheering from the Oystercatcher Bar and realized the World Cup was on. So, we walked up to the Local Bar and watched the rest of the game. I didn’t have a vested interest in who one, but was kind of hoping for Argentina. At least it didn’t come down to penalty kicks to win. I think that is a poor way of finishing a big game like that.
Today started with a little cloud cover, but it didn’t last long. It is heating up nicely now with the sun out. I fixed us a big breakfast today which I only do about once a week.
Last night I fixed pork chops on the grill and beets with beet greens. Delish!
Darrel talked to the mechanic today and there is a Volvo Penta dealer just around the corner by the Salt Spring marina. He walked over there to find out if they have a parts kit or how much a new one would cost.
The mechanic has warned us several times that it is Canada, eh? Going to cost an arm and a leg. Darrel just told him he had more money than time. The mechanic even offered us his car to tour the island. Not sure if we will take him up on it. Really a nice guy!
Darrel ordered a new fuel pump and it will be flown in this afternoon from Vancouver. Yes, it did cost an arm and a leg, but as much as we like Ganges, we would like to get back on the water!
We should be off again tomorrow morning. Yay!

great picture! I am praying you get off tomorrow.
Looks like he is ready for a Mexican hat dance.
Well, it is his Mexico hat!
