California Dreamin’

The skies were fairly clear at first so I had a good view of Mt Rainier. I really was amazed at how little snow we have in the mountains, however. We might be in for a dry summer – waterwise. The flight was a bit bumpy at times, landing was like going into Seattle – foggy/cloudy and bumpy.

Arrived into Bob Hope Burbank Airport sometime after 5:30 and went to get my rental car. I had ordered a Mustang convertible since I am thinking about getting another one in the next year and wanted to try it out. Well, it wasn’t a Mustang, it was a Camaro! Hmmm, Chevy? Oh, well, I figured they didn’t have any Mustangs, because, of course, they are waaaay better!

I had originally planned to stay in Burbank but decided to take off since I was wide awake. Traffic was typical CA. Took me 2 hours to go maybe 60 miles.

Was getting hungry so ended up in Redlands at a Comfort Suites. Got a grilled chicken burrito next door at the Pollo Loco. It was decent – huge so didn’t finish it.

Why is it that hotel rooms have their smoke alarms right over the bed with a bright blue light shining down into your face? The other thing was that their WiFi sucked and I couldn’t get the iPad to work with it. Hence, no post last night.

This morning, I went to Target to get some things I didn’t want to have to bring in my ‘liquids’ baggie and then got out of town by about 10:00.

First, however, I had to figure out the car. Didn’t do that before taking off in it last night. It has a navigation system, XM radio, and bluetooth. So, I was able to hook my phone up via bluetooth and listened and practiced my Italian language course.

After I got tired of that (I like to be able to do it on the computer so I can see how the words are spelled. I learn it better that way), I listened to a book until I stopped here in Blythe for lunch.

I thought it was pretty funny as I was coming into Palm Springs, all I could see were big wind mills all around! The other thing is that the weather is supposed to be kind of crappy the next couple of days. Oh, well, it is still 70+ degrees.

I am thinking it will be another 2 hours into Peoria where the Wamsley’s and Bryant’s are staying at an RV park. My old Mariner Spring Training stomping grounds!

Will post when I get WiFi or hook up to my hotspot.

GO HAWKS!

Hey girl, we are behind you, far behind, as we are driving down to Palm Desert. That picture of Palm Springs cloudy sky is very unusual. I’m sure they will be sunny when we hit P.S. on Super Bowl morning. I can hardly wait. Go Hawks!
